  • Hisato, Nolan and Paul visited SPring-8, Japan to perform synchrotron experiments. Satoru Emoto of Kyushu University, Japan also joined us for the experiments from Japan. We had no sleep but productive time!

  • Yang Hyun Auh (Paul) of Texas A&M University visited LANL for a 2 months summer intern with us. Paul is a Chemical Engineering student who is  funded by LANL for four years of his PhD study.  Welcome Paul!

  • An articles on our paper (work function lowering of LaB6 by monolayer hexagonal boron nitride coating for improved photo- and thermionic-cathodes) was published in LANL STE Highlights.
  • We were invited to present our work under the DOE U.S.-Japan Science and Technology Cooperation Program in High Energy Physics at The 45th meeting of the US-Japan Science and Technology Cooperation Program in High Energy Physics in Hawaii (in-person). The topic was on the use of 2D materials as unique protection layer for bialkali photocathodes.

  • Our joint proposal with Prof. Jodie Lutkenhaus for 2023 TAMU-LANL Collaborative Program on Two-dimensional MXene Coatings for Protection of Actinides has been awarded as Research Project. A PhD student at Texas A&M Univeristy (TAMU) will be funded for four years by LANL.
